Cory Boyer
Meet Cory Boyer – Superintendent and this month’s Hard Hat Hang Up.
How did you get into the construction industry?
I always enjoyed helping my dad with projects around the house from a very young age. I also enrolled in carpentry/cabinetmaking vocational classes while in high school my junior and senior years. I went to work for a GC right out of high school and here I am.
What do you like most about being a Superintendent?
There are multiple things that I like about the superintendent role. The uniqueness of every project has to be what I like most. Each project is different and that helps to keep things interesting on a daily basis.
What is your favorite project you have worked on at Chesapeake?
I’d have to say the Aston Martin/Bentley dealership is my favorite. It’s a super cool building with a lot of high-end finishes. Chesapeake had a very good project team and the owner was great to work with as well.
What is your favorite thing about working at Chesapeake?
My favorite thing about working at Chesapeake is being able to maintain a healthy work/life balance. I have two sons that are in multiple sports, activities, etc. And I’m able to be there for them.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I enjoy working on projects around the house, attending sporting events (mostly kid related), and just hanging out with friends and family.
