40TEN Highlighted in NAIOP MD Article
40TEN gained recognition in an article by NAIOP Maryland titled “The New Economics of Green,” shedding light on the transformative impact of green technology incentives and market demand on sustainable projects.
Highlighted within this informative piece is 40TEN, a groundbreaking project that stands as the first mass timber building, setting a new standard for sustainable construction. Beyond its innovative design, 40TEN proudly boasts carbon neutrality, aligning with the global mission to reduce carbon emissions. Constructing the top three floors from mass timber rather than concrete slabs and columns prevented the production of 7.8 million pounds of carbon dioxide. Other design elements such as electrochromic glazing, under-floor air-distribution system, and low-flow plumbing further improve the building’s performance.
Our commitment extends beyond constructing highly efficient structures; by proactively problem solving, we build innovative construction projects that address environmental needs and challenges for our region.
