Cheapeake Contracting Group completed the demolition of an existing million SF manufacturing facility on the 45-acre site.
CCG performed a total new site development, including: all new wet utilities (water, storm and sanitary), all new site lighting, relocation of 115 KVA power lines along Reisterstown Road, widening of Reisterstown Road, replaced the traffic signals at the two intersection to the project on Reisterstown Road, installed a new intersection with traffic signals at Painters Mill Road, graded and installed site retaining walls for a 40’ elevation change within the site, signage, bio-retention facilities, all new sidewalks, curb and gutter and paving (porous paving with stone reservoir underneath.) CCG reused recycled concrete from the demo of the existing building (100,000 cy of material.)
The Foundry Row project features 234,000 SF of office and retail buildings (one 3-story office/retail building and 12 one story retail buildings). It also included a 130,000 SF Wegmans grocery store as the anchor tenant. The duration of the project, including demolition and abatement, was over three years.
Foundry Row is special for many reasons. CCG incorporated 100,000 CY of recycled concrete material for the required reservoir under the porous pavement and overcame a 40’ elevation change on the site to make the shopping center layout work. We maximized buildings, enabled the parking lot grades to work and made a delightful shopping experience for the customers. We also successfully relocated the 115 KVA power lines along Reisterstown Road. This required coordination with BGE, Comcast and Verizon while not interrupting services to customers or commuters on the roadway.
Foundry Row is also the largest retail shopping center with porous pavement in the state of Maryland (32,000 SY.)
