Audi of Owings Mills

Audi of Owings Mills is a luxury and upscale car dealership located in Owings Mills, Maryland. This project consisted of the removal of the old showroom and the construction of a new Showroom and Service Drive Thru. The sitework consisted of relocating underground storm water management facilities, new site lighting and mill and overlay of the entire parking lot. The Service and Parts Department remained open during the construction, creating an emphasis on safety for Audi of Owings Mills employees and patrons. Because this 24,000 SF dealership used to be the Mini of Baltimore before it was changed to Audi of Owings Mills, there were many elements of construction that had to be considered. The MEP portion of the renovation was design build with the subcontractors. Because a portion of the 2nd floor of the building remained and to meet the design requirements of Audi, many ceiling coordination meetings were had to ensure that the new and existing ductwork, sprinkler and plumbing piping all fit between the new steel structure and the old streel structure. Audi’s new image program called for acoustical metal ceilings, curbed and radius walls and bulk heads and honeycomb metal panels. The entire building was cladded – the front half was cladded with two layers of metal panels and the entire building was cladded with corrugated metal panels.
